My grille is faded a bit and I want to repaint it. Is it supposed to be a flat black or flat grey? Also will the inserts remove from the Chrome or do I need to tape it off?

I think the official color is "argent". Mine was faded and looking bad, so I sprayed it Krylon semi-flat black. Only the Excursion grills have removable inserts. The F250/f350 grills are one piece.
