1995 wiring for radio needed
I have looked at all the dif forums and could not find anything on this...Not saying there is not one some place I just cannot find it
I have a 1995 E150 that still runs good however we retired it about 3 years ago as a full time truck and used it as a spare when one of the other trucks went into the shop.
Now with more work (and not sure how long it will last ..nor buying another truck yet) I am taking it out of retirement. Problem is that someone need the radio more them me, and in taking it mess up the plastic.
I not too worried about the plastic, however the truck will be driven for hrs at a time so I bought a replacement radio for the employee to have something to keep him awake.
I need a wiring diagram for the truck it has two flat plugs (one gray , the other black) and the radio was just AM/FM
I bought a AM/FM tape deck from a guy that said that it came out of a 1996, however when I plugged it in and turn on the key nothing happen
I am hoping that I did not open a can of worms here
Thanks for the help

The easy way is to just got to your local auto store (Advance, Autozone, Orielly's ETC) and buy the $8 adapter, then go buy a cheap $50 aftermarket radio and be done with it in 20 minutes. The you don't have to woryy about hacking up the harness. It could be the guy sold you a radio that doesn't work.

Sounding off...
We can assume you have the radio without an external amplifier since you say that it has two flat plugs. While you could buy the "aftermarket" radio as has been suggested I would submit that such an approach would "butcher" the van's wiring more than already has been done. The choice is certainly yours but keep in mind that there a lot of these factory radios in salvage yards all over the country - at VERY affordable prices. And, you are not limited to E-Series vans only but vehicles from Contours to F-Series are potential donors of not only radios but also the plugs and other wiring that may have been "butchered". Yes, there is a very real chance that the unit you have is not functional. In response to your initial post, here is the wiring code for the two plugs:
PLUG #1
#1, BK/LG: grd, G200
#2, NOT USED
#3, BK/LG: grd, G200
#4, O/BK: Main Light Switch, 694
#5, LB/R: Inst. Illum, 19
#6, Y/BK: 12V (ACC or RUN), 137
#7, BK: grd, G201
#8, LG/P, 12V (Hot @ All Times)
PLUG #2
#1, BR/PK: RR Speaker, 803
#2, PK/LB: RR Speaker, 806
#3, DG/O: RF Speaker, 811
#4, W/LG: RF Speaker, 805
#5, T/Y: LR Speaker, 801
#6, PK/LG: LR Speaker, 807
#7, LB/W: LF Speaker, 813
#8, O/LG: LF Speaker, 804
The letters are the color codes and the three digit numbers are the Ford circuit numbers. I hope this helps.

I just acquired a '97 Superduty with a 7.3. One of the plugs was cut off for the radio. I have to hardwire the plug or find another plug. the12volt.com is was not helpful with the trying to put in the vehicle I have with the color wires in the dash. The post at the beginning of the thread was a lifesaver!
