Do you need new shocks with rear lift blocks?

Hey guys, my truck has the plow prep package with the stiffer front springs, i have an 04. My front end looks higher than my rear end and i would like to level it or make it higher in the rear at least. I am going to put on 33-34" tires so i may need to put a leveling kit on the front which means i would need maybe 4" blocks? If i put taller blocks in will i need longer shocks for lifted vehicles?

You should be fine raising it 2" in the rear. I have the front plow prep also so I installed Firestone rear air bags to raise it up to level (1"-2")

If your going to level I would also go with the 5" block. I leveled mine and put a 4" block and I'm planning on replacing mine when I get a chance. Also I would just use you shock you have now if they are still good and get some that are for 1-2" taller if the are shot or when the need replaced.

Thanks Rick

I agree with the 5'' with leveling ...but i did get 3'' out of my front lift springs..and my rears are pretty shot.. and i sit level ....a little too level for me..i can't decide whether to get the replacement rear springs or air bags

I've got airbags on mine and I've not noticed them to raise the rear of the truck empty unless they are pumped way up. If you springs are shot look at getting a set of taller springs instead of a block. I think that Icon makes a 5" lift spring.

Thanks guys, my springs are fine but i think i may replace my shocks soon i still have the stock ones on and i just hit 90k. Would leveling the front of the truck even prevent the tires from rubbing the leaf springs?

Thought so I don't know what I was thinking, its all in the offset. What offset is recommended so that tires will not rub? i know it varies from tire to tire but what do most people run?
