Which rear axle is wider?

I need to know if the Econoline strip chassis Dana 70 with dual rear wheels is narrower than the single rear wheel version of the same diff.
Some have said that the single rear wheel is a wider axle over all. Measurement from axle hub end to axle hub end.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
Andrew.

Andrew.
The 70U came in several widths. We would need to know what the SRW 70 came from to be able to tell you. I know that E350 70Us DRWs are about 6 inches wider than the Dana 60 SRW, but that can vary depending on year and application.

It also depends on how you are measuring, for my purposes i was measuring end to end, but i think the DRW axle is SHORTER when measuring flange to flange.

The SRW D70 used in SRW cutaway chassis is kinda freaky, i think its ~4 inches wider than the FF60/70DRW.

Thanks for the replies. The rear axle I am looking at purchasing right now is out of a cutaway, box econoline 2005 1FDSE35L67DA29368
They are selling the rear axle as a full float, 4.10 D70 Single Rear Wheel.
I have called Dana tech line, they say that Ford puts all kinds of different hubs and ends on their axles after they leave their factory, no help there.
I haven't been able to get the guy to go and measure the axle in this truck or give me the BOM number off it yet, its in the truck and I don't think he wants to get dirty, but I will give him a day to think about it.
My other problem is that a lot of the D70's had D60 guts in them, same carrier bearings, and some had the same pinion size but bigger inner pinion bearing but the same size outer bearing. So really I am not gaining that much over my Full Float D60. I find that towing all the time the pinion bearings wear out every couple of years. I am not over loaded, but 9200lb trailer is not light. The van is rated for 10,000lbs trailer and 18,500lbs GCWR. I am at 17,000lbs when I tow loaded. Not overloaded but I don't drive slow. I put a bigger cover on the D60 and run 75/140 Mobil 1 in the axle, but that inner pinion bearing is small compared to the real D70HD, but they are too wide for my van from what I can tell. It will bolt in and work, but the axle ends are going to stick out the side of my van 4 inches on each side. I looked at this 10 years ago and gave up. But someone bought a SWR D70 for his van and bolted it straight in and it was very slightly wider, 2004 model axle. So I am looking at the facts again, and there are almost too many variables. Nobody close to me has the rear axle I can go and look at and measure to find out.
Anyway thanks for any other info anyone can give me Andrew.

95e150CW Dana confirmed what you said. From wheel center to wheel center the SRW is 200mm wider than the DRW that is almost 8 inches, 4 per side, on the cutaway model. the problem with his measurement is to the center of the wheels, that tells me nothing about the overall length and it doesn't tell me now much offset from the wheels is the governing factor. thanks for your input AE.
