My 1954 Ford B-600 Bus Project

I got this bus from my uncle, who purchased it in 1972. It's seen a lot since. It currently has a 425 from a 1978 Cadillac Deville. It has been sitting for about 10 years now, only being driven once in that 10 years. I got it running and driving, so now my mission is the wiring. It is in pretty sad condition. He has had shade tree mechanics all over small town Iowa cutting and pasting the wiring. I got the taillights working, along with the brake lights. I have the turn signals working, but not flashing. I thing the flasher delay is bad. I'm trying to figure out the horn wiring next.

Only pic of the motor. I have since replaced the carb, some wiring, and cleaned things up a bit.

Welcome Aboard TwoK!

That's a pretty unique ride - What's your plan? Making it into an RV/camping machine?

Are you sticking with that large metal platform on the back?

Good luck over there!

Everytime I see an old bus, I keep asking my wife if I could buy one for her preschool business. I keep telling her that it'll be a great tax write off, but the school is non-profit.

OK - so this will date me I know but I know that there are some of you even older here on FTE. I used to ride to grade school in a 1946 or 47 Ford School bus. We lived in the country so it was a long ride. I distinctly remember that Ford driveline whine and the driver, an old farmer, occasionally (but rarely) missing a shift. My 1950 F-2 has that same whine.
