Just a FYI they make a twin stick conversion for the transfer case. I found one on eBay for my np205 about $200. Uncle Sam is buying mine as well as my winch and lift.

Twin stick conversion? I have a M50D, and tho I always have room for a stick-shift, but a transfer conversion, that's new. Will keep this up front for more info.
Thanks for responding BTW.

yea it converts the one handle shfter into 2. they both pivot on the same point as the old single handle but each pin on the t-case is controlled individually by each handle. this way u can run rear axle only high or low, front axle only high or low, or (front axle high w/ rear axle in low, or front axle low and rear axle high.) <----- i wouldnt suggest either of the last two unless your pretty much floating in the swamp. i like the idea of being able to put the rear axle in low and having the ability of putting the front in neutral.

I've found that with decent tires if you need 4x4 to proceed down the highway/interstate its usually closed (out here in WY/CO). The side roads are a different story, for that I carry 4 tire chains October through May. Might try some studded Generals this winter though.

i dont think it will work quite like that. just lets you work high and low separate from 4x4 and 4x2

The way the NP205 case is designed allows you to select any range you want for the front/rear if you twin-stick it.

Other transfercases just let you select between hi/lo 2wd/4wd if you twin stick them.
