I got word a while back that a local farmer had an old Ford truck that was just left abandoned a long time ago. Went over to his place and made my way to it...decided that it was worth at least pulling out to see what was left and he agreed to let me have it. My uncle has a boom truck so this job was done in about 30 minutes, just thought I would share some pics as I wish everytime I went digging in the woods it was this easy!
I've seen it all now. That's awesome. You should make one of those pics with it hanging way up in the air your new avatar. Heck, I just looked again, it still has the engine, tranny and radiator, doesn't it? Surely you'll be able to salvage a few parts.
Hey Ilya! Are the hood trim pieces installed correctly?
Yea seeing it lifted out of the brush and hanging 25ft in the air was priceless. The back half of the truck is still in use as a trailer being pulled behind a tractor. I was able to get several parts that can be used for my project.
And it's an F1! Nice score. I still see a few hundred dollars worth of parts on that truck. You guys have real cojones to pull that truck up by the front bumper. I'd be too afraid for the bumper to snap at the frame.
At least it wasn't a sequence of photos like below.
I posted it to show the life cycle of a truck. Trust me, when I scrapped that Panel, there was no useable part left, except for the frame, which I couldn't give away. That Panel body had more holes than swiss cheese.
