I just bought a 2002 expedition about 2 months ago and yesterday the #2 spark plug flew out of the engine and we cannot insert another one. I have been researching this problem and ford isnt any better than chevy with the equinox engine problems, had one and got rid of it, any way, I have found 3 different fixes, time-sert, helicoil and the calvan 38900 repairs kits. Which one is the better?

 

This is the tool I used about a year ago. Cheap, easy to use and no problems since. It's available from Sears.

Thank you, how long did it take you to finish?

 

Mine was the #7 plug, third one on the driver side. Total time of about 3 hours. Mine is the 5.4 DOHC and there's a lot of stuff in the way.
