Help, truck does not build boost till 2000 RPM. replaced turbo and rebuild and replaced EGR with no change. Truck blows blue smoke till it builds boost. Truck has 300,000 km

 

What motor?

Any check engine light/ or trouble codes?

 

It is a 2007 6.0 , the code I had before I changed the turbo was underboost PO299 and now I got another CEL and scanning it today.

 

Try pulling the egr valve and take a look at it,may be as simple as just cleaning it. Also while its off, look down in the manifold and check for coolant in there, just to be sure. A sticking /bad valve would throw a code tho, like p1335 or p0404, if those are the new codes you get definitely check the egr valve.

I believe p0299 can be related to a few things, ill be honest i dont know a whole lot about it. I have read it can sometimes be related to a clogged EBP sensors or leaking cac boots.

Grab the other code it threw and ask this question in the 6.0L section, there is a lot of knowledgeable people on there.
