The gears are always churning
So, I have had this idea about the independant front 4x4 like the Aerostar has. And as we are walking around the junkyard I find an Expedition that has been rolled. It runs good and I can get it cheap. The track width is a little wide, 72 inches outside so that is a little of a problem Unless I can redrill the hubs for some earlier wheels with a more favorable offset.
Now I am usually the first one to discourage frame swaps but I still can't help thinking how a fridge body would fit that chassis. It has torsion bars so you can get it pretty low, I like a pickup I can work out of and not have to crawl up in the bed after things.

Redrill the hubs. Tires are so innaccurate and out of round, it doesn't make that much difference if you are 2 thousands off or whatever. 4 wd, independent suspension.... sounds good. BUTTTTT the crown vic thing if you are of that ilk... lower, etc I think from reading here that it is a match made in heaven. ... Disc brakes (12" I think) bolt on... 34" frame width. Now if they only made a 4wd crown vic............
