Econoline leaky transmission

Is there a magic check valve that the good folks at the transmission shop may have forgotten that I can easily replace? Other ideas? Thanks, p ps it shifts like crap too: doesn't downshift when I stop, and seems to take forever to upshift, but this is my first Cruise-O-Matic so maybe that's normal?
