2012 F-250 need larger fuel tank
I thought I had seen a thread on this, but searching around I keep getting sent to the F-150's, so i'll ask the question.... Is there an aftermarket larger fuel tank available that doesn't mess with the electronics (acg mpg, distance to empty, etc..)? I've contacted Ford and they say theirs isn't available yet. Mine's the 26 galloon, which just isn't enought for towing a large fifth wheel. Only have a range of about 200 miles, which can be problematic out in the forest or trying to fit into a one off gas station somewhere. Thanks.

Bizfortwo,
Not trying to be picky but you hold a torque wrench wrong. You must hold a torque wrench by the handle, center of hand, center on handle. You'll get an incorrect torque otherwise. See torqueing at 6 minutes in your video. Just trying to be helpful. Good video on tank change out.

Titan and Transferflow make aftermarket fuel tanks, Titans are polyethylene (ie plastic) and TF is aluminized steel. Short bed Super Duties come with a 28ish gallon tank, and long bed Super Duties come with a 38ish gallon tank. Expeditions came with a 44 gallon tank between the frame rails.

I've done a search for after market GASOLINE tanks and found only one source (forgotten who, but way too expensive at over $1K for only another ~20 gallons) but have considered a bed mounted metal housing/poly insert race car tank with a transfer pump, the line hooked to the filler neck or, if too lazy to pull that filler tube, just stop and stick the hose in the tank fill. I too have a 5th wheeler and I have to say, finding a gas station can be interesting in the boonies - and once there, can I get my 12+ foot high, 35 foot trailer under their @#$% awning. FWIW, my short bed V10 gasser supposedly has a 30 gallon tank according to my owner's manual - and have put 29 in it.
