i recently purchased a 1996 f250 with a fuel injected 460 and e4od trans 4x4. i purchased it under the assumptiion that it had a broken manifold, turns out it actually has a broken exhaust flange on the right head at the front port. i am considering just purchasing a used engine and installing it since the original motor is a little rough. does anyone know what year engines will interchange with my 1996. overall the truck is in good shape and the trans hifts great so i dont mind the extra work to replace the engine. any help would be greatly appreciated. also my truck has the air pump and all that emission junk

 

'93-97 used F3TE heads so I guess along as your in that range you should be alright, again depends on what heads you have
