Need Help Identifying 40's Vintage Truck

Greetings Vintage Ford Truck enthusiests. I was hoping to get some help with identifying my grandfather's Service Station truck he had back in the 40's. I want to reproduce it in 1/18 Diecast - but I don't know the exact year/make/model. I'm leaning towards FORD, but they all look very similar in the early 40's. Can anyone conclusively identify this Panel Truck?

Thanks in advance.

It's hard for me to tell without seeing the grill or tail lights.

Someone will be along and tell us.

Looks to me like a '39 or '40 sedan delivery. Here's a pic of a restored one for comparisons.

Wish I remembered your grand dad's stations. I'm from Belleville and would assume that one or the other of the stations was right on West Main/State St. (W. Main changes its name to State St. at Edgemont hill as Belleville morphs into E. St. Louis at 97th St.). Probably drove past there many times. Do you know the span of years he was in business? As I understand there's a nice Belleville area historical museum that might have additional pictures or information about your grand dad's stations. Stu

Small world!

Thanks for your observations. I agree, I'm almost positive it's a 40 Ford (the '39 had fender embellishiments).

My memory is very scetchy about the whereabouts and whenabouts. My dad was born in '35 and it's his dad - Ray Simons - that owned the stations. If I had to guess, I'd say he was in business until the early 60's when my Uncle Robert Simons took over and changed the name to SimonService. Years later, Roberts Son (my cousin) took over and is still in business. I do know my dad went to school at Signal Hill Highschool.
