Year of head makes a difference. 1979-85 used a Motorcraft ASF 42 with electronic ignition and a .042 gap. Before or after those years used a different plug. I don't know if Motorcraft plugs are available in the UK, but I'm sure the equivalent Bosch or NGK will work for your needs fine.
