Question NGK Spark plugs and general plug ?

Anybody every try NGK plugs in their 302 before? I try to stick with OEM parts but I have had nothing but good luck out of NGK plugs in my Nissan's and just wondering if they make a plug and if anybody has ever used them. If so do you know what the part # is or what size plug a 302 requires?

Can someone explain the different spark plug heat ranges?

unless you have a modified engine, stick to the O.E. heat range. While I agree NGK is an excellent plug, my vote is to stick with what came in the car originally. It's what the ignition was designed for.

Autolite combines heat ranges to increase coverage, so I'd stay away from those.

Tell that to my customers that have had check engine lights come on because they had Autolite plugs in their cars.

I'd rather have the exact plug that the car came with from the factory, but I know the average do-it-yourself mechanic doesn't usually care. To each his own....

I doubt that would show a check engine light. The computer doesn't know what brand plugs you have. Autolites work just fine.

Why would you put a imported plug into an American vehicle? I stick with as much American made parts as possible

I use NGK plugs in my 351 no problems. I also used motorcraft, accel, autolite,. All performed the same IMO. I also run MSD coil and have used a Accel ignition box with no improvement. So unless your demented like I am and just have to have a "brand" name then the cheapoes will do just fine.
