I put the cost for the dropped axle out of the mid fifty catalog . the most expensive one not the economy axle. im sure there is a cheaper axle out there but for estimating purposes i figured worst case senario.

i just looked at it again to check the price there is one that is 450$ and another they label as Econo that is 350. and it isnt that i am in love with the ifs option . But with eveything in mind as far as motor and crossmember location, stance, what im going to do now and what im going to do later . I am thinking the IFS option will suit me and think i will be more comfertable with it .

Thanks i am soaking up info from here on a daily basis. Well , first i built the first spray booth and didnt like the plastic getting all sucked in when i was working. So i got to thinking and remembered they paint both from an old friends body shop so i tried to recreate one out of wood and cheap masonite board the i glued/stapled to the 8'X8' panels so they wouldnt flex. Plus i needed something that i could clean fairly easy. plastic is really difficult to keep clean. I also used exterior caulk on all of joints where i bolted the panels together to have somewhat of a seal.

Yep, tryin to get my old truck back together, workin on sheetmetal, not in bad shape really, just welding up some cracks on the cab, tryin to get it ready for paint. You be interested in doing paint work? Got 72' 351C with C4 fit nice in your truck, maybe work out trade?

Tho the offer sounds nice. I would not consider myself a painter that would be willing to do a job for someone for a price . I have turned down multiple paint job offers because i dont feel that my skills are all that great. For example the last paint job i did within a year the paint didnt adhere to well and ended up cracking and peeling all over the roof and hood and i wouldnt ever dreaming of something like that happening to someone again.I do believe that the paint didnt do to well because it was left over paint that i had in the garage that had sat for a year threw the winter. i would like to put a 351 in the truck as thats my plan for the future.

I use to do body and paint work for a living when I was younger, you'll get the hang of it, prep work is key to a good/great job. I could do it myself but don't really have a place to do it.I have done all of the work myself so far, bought a media blaster and did the frame then painted it. Replaced everything that could be replaced, bushings, spring pins, brakes, hardware, hoses, new drums, all new brake lines. Bought a MIG welder a while back, did my exhaust system, still got to get pipe made to go over rearend. I have other parts that will fit your truck, maybe we can work something out, PM me if you think you might be interested.
