I need some opinions...how do you feel about a black interior on black trucks? I am thinking of doing black door panels, carpet, visors, seats, etc.

I think it will look good, but want to hear some other opinions. Maybe black door panels and visors with charcoal gray or regular gray seat/carpet? I just dont want any bright colors like red.

I vote for charcoal. Maybe as an accent color in the seat would be enough?

Idea:

Great thread!

Been following for a while now.

And yeah I agree with grinnergetter, something like charcoal with it would be good. Think it needs a second colour to make it stand out and make it look like it's had some thought put into it.

Even if it's quite a dark grey (darker than the one in the pic) so it still keeps the dark feeling.

I like that look. I have a bench seat from a mid 90's f150...so I think I will go black carpet, door panels, and seats...but have the gray worked into the seat and door panels. Darker than that particular vehicle though.

Thanks man.

ALSO, got word from the shipping manager from L&L...looks like my headers will be shipped Monday the 12th and will probably get them Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday at the latest.

This means the 460 will be fired up by next weekend.

Quick teaser. Pardon the gross distributor and alternator...going to run the old ones for awhile until I have extra $$ to upgrade.

Lookin good! Are you going to stick with a Duraspark ignition? If so, I'd recommend Scott Johnston (The Mad Porter) as he'll get you a reman'd dizzy recurved for your application.

Yea, I will probably get a dizzy from Scott. I don't see a reason to spend a ton on a shiny distributor. I do want to get a nice shiny alternator though haha

Forgot to mention, I do have 4.5" tall Ford Racing aluminum valve covers with 5" T handle bolts coming. They will look so much better than the stock ones.

Very nice build. Our engines look very similar. Here are a few pics with L&L fender exits installed. I needed to trim the inner fenders and do some grinding on the cab mount bracket. Also had to rework the brake lines. I checked into getting the taller valve covers but that will come later. Think there are issues with clearing the brake booster, but that was before I got the smaller diameter booster.

I got some 4" T handle valve cover bolts but just noticed the other day that I think he one is going to cause a problem for the oil cap/breather.

Whose engine mounts did you use? Any problems with the clutch equalizer bar alignment?

My L&L's were a little rough at the header flange. The available sealing area (flat spot of the ground weld) got pretty thin in some places. I very carefully took a grinder to them to make everything flat to the flange.

It just occurred to me...hopefully I'm not stepping on toes posting pics in your build thread. Let me know if that's taboo.

I don't mind at all. I used L&L motor mounts and I have an automatic tranny.

Ill check the clearance issues with the breather and the valve cover/booster. Thanks for the heads up.

Black on black on black. Love the look of that interior color.
