302 rebuild

96 f150 302.. Now correct me if I'm wrong but the 1st gen lightnings 93-95 are just a 351 with gt40 heads, intake and a cam and 4:10 gears... And there about 250hp... I'm basically making a lightning clone but 4wd.. So I want to rebuild my 302 so I'm thing bore it out 30 over, gt40 heads & intake, good cam, headers and 4:10 gears... How much do you think that will run me and what performance should I expect?

That would make a BIG difference compared to what you have now, I'm just not sure it will have the low end power of the 351. It will be equal if not higher in the hp department...

So in my small town of 17000 people it would be noticably faster than most normal cars.. Cause everyone in town knows my truck it's a flat black f150 and screams.. I have a air charger on it so it's faster than a stock f150.. It gets mistaked for a lightning a lot.. I'll try to upload pics tonight in a thread

Why not look into a stroker kit? Get some more displacement. Best bang for buck would be find a 351w and stroke that. You'd be a good deal faster then you're average car. 351w uses same mounts and would bolt up to everything you already have. The MAF computer on your car will run it, not at 100% tho.
