I like your rims better Dylan, that other model looks too dated, even for a 78-79.

They do look dated but you don't see them much anymore. I kind of wish my rims were maybe half an inch narrower. 11.5 inches is quite a bit of metal and gets awfully close to my tie rod end. I had 8.5 before on a 12.5 tire. The guys at discount said the wider rim will keep my tires healthier. Weather it's true or not i don't know but i still like them.

You say dated, I say period correct. :-)

It's just exactly the look I always loved when I was younger. Maybe I'm showing my age, but I always build my vehicles similar to what they were "in the day." I'm a big fan of the so called Day 2 vehicles, lightly modified with what was available in the era when they were new.

I had this long standing vision of keeping my 78 baby stock and kind of restoring it. I've gotten to the point where I plan to mod it but not so much that it isn't a bronco anymore.

Just don't do anything you can't turn back to stock condition.

Count me as another vote in favor of the sweet looking "vintage" wheel. They really do give your Bronco a look that I really like.

The only "permanent" stuff I think would be mods that improve what's already there. Things that we have now that Ford didn't have back in 77-78. But I think pretty much everything will be bolt on.

SteelSteeds, I think the turbines turned out great and looks awesome with your bronco!! I also prefer the "period" correct most of the time. That is bad to the bone man!!

With either set of wheels it's awful sexy.

Haha Zip wins I think.

Back on topic, today I actually did something. I did a small tune up consisting of plugs and a fuel filter. My old baby was having a hell of a time running in the cold and just under normal operating standards. I plan to get a choke thermostat since mine doesn't work however since auto zone had none in Stock I'm going to order it online and shipped to my house. That way I don't have to wake up to go get it. Anyways, so my 2 rear spark plugs were fouled up pretty bad. I got em all replaced and it certainly runs better. Of course this was all after a shower of gas from a clamp I hadn't tightened all the way down. It sprayed at my fan and misted over me and the truck. That was like $3 in gas! Anywho, it runs and drives a little better and I found out my master cylinder is leaking brake fluid at the booster and there is a hissing sound after the truck shuts off. Looks like I'll need just an entire brake system for it.

Sounds like you will be very busy with TGM. I received the billet grille from LMC last week, but only today got the 3" hole saw I need to install it (for the hood latch extension) However, a friend called and wanted to know if I can use a kitchen cabinet, so instead of installing the grille today, I'll be picking up a kitchen cabinet. Maybe tomorrow.

Removed radius arm bushings to reveal one busted bracket and one 'bout ready to bust bracket. Placed the order for new ones from JBG. Moved on to the auto hub conversion but spent two hours looking for my bearing nut socket. Good times. Hopefully tomorrow will go better.

I didn't spend more than an hour. Hell I'm supposed to be sleeping now but instead I was distracted by super troopers. Working night shift is a pain in the butt.

It's amazing how many tools I look for, that I KNEW I had!! Friends and relatives come over and say, "Hey, can borrow this???" Kinda funny, friends usually bring them back.........relatives, not as much!
