Absaroka car show pictures (lots pics, w/FTE members)
Had the 2012 Absaroka State Takeover show today. Last night was the Pin-Up girl contest. Been a fun couple of days. Was actually my first car show, Scott (Tinman52) was there as well. He took the award for Best Pickup
This is from the hill side, we where towards the entrance :
Scott's blue '52:
The cross over exhaust on my Y-block brought some attention:
Great view I had while I sat and ate some lunch!
The camera doesn't do any of these colors justice. That purple was very cool, and Scotts blue had a lot of depth to it in person that you don't see with a picture.
This '66 Cobra wasn't allowed in, so it was parked outside. Was a pre-65 American only show.
Detail work:
Was a beautiful day, 75 degrees (and I should have worn sunscreen lol)
Yeah, I'd say today was a pretty cool day.
Was a great show, loved the atmosphere. Everyone there loved to build, it was about the build, about old iron and putting it to use not keeping it in a garage. The cars and trucks here are used and abused and built. People didn't want to see perfect and done, they wanted to see sweat and blood and smiles. It was the first car show I've been to where it was about the build, not what you bought. Patinas with no fillers or fixing where loved and embraced.

It was a beautiful day
BTW, the meaning behind Absaroka: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Absaroka_(state)
And if you live around here, I can tell you that you would assume you where in a different state as the people are different, friendlier some how. It's more of the area I live vs living in Wyoming. South or west Wyoming isn't the same as this area of it.

This was "THE" road trip of the summer for us.......1100+ miles. The old flathead purred along just fine, no problems. Man am I glad to have a 5 speed now!
I will put up some pics of the trip & show later...

As it is, my son starts school next week, so truckstock isn't going to happen for us. Maybe next year.
