Unless the smog(air) pump is seized removing it and the associated plumbing won't make any noticable difference in performance on your truck.

You're better off advancing the timing with spout removed to 12-14* and giving it a full tune up

Okay well conanski you always help on all my threads, so would it harm it in anyway? Cause as soon as
I take it all off and get a smaller belt I'm gonna get a 6 liter tune up

Your '96 uses the OBD-II powertrain control system. Your cousin has a truck with OBD-I. Your truck is a lot more sensitive to removing equipment. Start with the Sixlitre tune-up before you start reverse engineering anything.

Sensitive as in the computer with throw a code or it will hurt something, I just thought removing the smog will make it run richer and give a little hp

Running richer does not always result in more power. If it gets stuck in "cold" mode, you'll not gain power but you will lose mpg.

Where is that thread, why open two, and if you want us to check it, post a link to it.

Things that aren't "needed" were put there for a reason in the first place. If you don't know what that reason is, you should leave them be.

OK, this sounds like a PCV failure. Can you find your PCV valve, and the air intake for the PCV system and see if that is the source of the oil?

The PCV should be in one valve cover, or in the top of the oil fill cap.

The air supply should be coming from the intake after the air flow meter, and should go into the valve cover opposite the PCV. If your PCV is in the valve cover, the air supply should go into the oil fill cap.
