ProComp Dual Stabilizer Stock Height Truck

I installed the Pro-Comp Dual Stabilizer tonight. Install was straightforward. Handles much different than stock. I left the stock stabilizer in place for now.

Fiddlesticks; another upgrade that I have to look into....

When you say it handles much different than stock, I'm assuming you mean much better. Have you driven it over bumpy roads that cause handling issues?

Is it better to leave the stock stabilizer on or remove it?

Looks good.

It does handle much better. I did the rancho shocks two weeks ago, but still felt the wobble. I could only find the pro comp one that would work with a stock height truck. I went for a short trip around the area. I will take a longer drive tomorrow. Pro Comp part number 222582. Not that I'm trying to spend your money

Yeah, after the shock upgrade (same as you) I noticed the wobble was still there but I drive down some really bad roads so I was debating this install regardless. The ones who have done it have all said it's a great improvement so this just reinforces that. Thanks for the part number. How long did it take?

Off I go, spend, spend, spend. This is why I never go on this site with my wife anywhere near me....oops, oh, hi dear.... Gotta go!

I was not in a hurry, a couple of hours. The outside brackets were the most work, getting the U bolts over the steering linkage and lined up with the plate was the most difficult part. The u-bolt are a tight fit. I got mine @ Summit Racing. They had the best price I could find.

I'm interested in a ride report as well.

I put the bilstien shocks on all four corners and replaced the stock stabilizer with a bilstien as well. Much better ride and eliminated the steering wobble going over bumps.

I then added a full replacement front bumper, close to 500 lbs worth and I have a little bit of wobble back probably due to the added weight.

I am considering adding these dual stabilizers to see if that helps.

Drive Report:

I took the truck on a wide range of roads and a bit of mild off road. The stabilizers seem to take away 98% of the issue. It was only on a big bumps and a deep manhole cover that you could feel it, but it was much reduced from what it was, an d did not last near as long. But you can still feel it.

FYI: The Pro-Comp has a new model coming out in a month or so. This has different stabilizers over the model I purchased, so it is a few bucks more. I was more interested getting rid of the wobble sooner.

It looks like Procomp has 3 dual steering stabilizer kits that will fit our trucks, lifted or not. The standard, the "Prorunner" and the Fox. Pro Comp Steering Stabilizer Kits - Steering Stabilizer - Steering Stabilizers - Lift Kits, Suspensions & Shocks - by Pro Comp

The Fox looks to have adjustable shocks (I'm guessing nitrogen). Does anyone know the difference between the standard and the Prorunner?
Is the new model the Prorunner?

I spoke with the them last week, I think they are replacing the Fox shock model with the pro-runner.

Olds69442....

Can you send me the updated instructions as well. I installed the procomp222582 tonight to smooth out the death wobble. I can't quite see from your pics. How did you install the outside tie rod brackets. Curved out or curved inward? Mine make contact for the last quarter inch of turn when mounted curved in as shown in my instructions. I am thinking of flipping the brackets to curve out but fear they may over extend. All the pictures I see online show the outside brackets curved out, but the illustrations show them inward. Please help.

I am installing the Readylift anti wobble track bar for non lifted trucks Monday. The dual stabilzers have eliminated the wobble for now, hopefully adding the new trac bar will prevent forever as it has not wearable parts. Ford replaced all other front end components 3000 miles ago, wobble came back. This is my last ditch effort to correct it for good. Had the death wobble twice empty and once towing 14.5k fiver. I have had enough of the code brown moments.
