Decision on 88 FSB

My friend has a a 1988 FSB that he has decided to move on from. Its relatively complete, but really rough. It has less than 100k on it. There is a problem with the ignition/column, where the key kinda freewheels and it won't start the truck. The truck has some rot, especially in the rear wheel well area. He has gotten it to pass DE state inspection by putting foil tape over it, but the guy at DMV said it would not pass the next time through. The rear hatch does not open, probably because the window does not open. It has been that way since he bought it. REcently, I had to disconnect the L/R parking cable due to it being seized.

When it starts, it runs pretty good, and it shifts ok too. Its a 302 with an auto transmission. Honestly not sure if the 4WD works, as he has never used it. Like I said, it is rough, but complete.

I asked him if he wanted to try and get it running/through inspection to sell it for a little more, or sell it as a parts truck and just get out from under it. I think he realizes that there isn't a whole lot of money in it either way, so he would like to get out from it as easy as possible.

The truck is in Kent Island, MD, near the Delaware border on Rt 301/50. I figure its worth a couple hundred bucks just in scrap. I have not been able to get pictures of it yet, but I figured I would check to see if there was any interest on the forum that I frequent. (I have a 1986 F150 that I am always working on.)

The question is, do YOU want a project and do YOU have the money to finish it?

If not, find a better shaped one that you can drive.

I'm sorry. I was misunderstood. I'm not looking for another project, I'm helping him make a decision and/or find a new home for it.

Well it's good to keep a Bronco around cause once they are gone...they are gone. It's like my Ford Courier....I can't hardly find one around my area.
