F600 VIN decode?

Hey all, I have an old '68 F 600 truck and was curious about it's origins. It was a county weed spray truck since new.....truck is in very good shape for it's age.
Vin- F60BRC44721
wb-174
color-j
model-F602
body-4381
then under both trans and axle-(2) and F8B?

Mostly want to know if the 5 speed is OD or direct......
Oddly, this truck has a 300 six in it.
Thanks!

20,000 lbs. Gross Vehicle Weight Rating.

DSO code omitted: 2 numbers = Decodes to the specific Ford District Sales Office the dealer ordered the truck from. If 6 numbers, the last 4 denote a Domestic Special Order.

You can get a copy of the original build sheet (and a lotta other stuff) from martiauto.com for a fee. Known in the hobby as a Marti Report.

Kevin Marti, a Mustang "nut" in Phoenix AZ has ALL the original 1967/79 FoMoCo records. Got them in the late 1980's when he found out FoMoCo was planning to THROW THEM AWAY!

Thanks! I have been looking all day! So what is the F7C?

I was hoping to find a replacement wheel to get rid of the split rim. Do you know of any?

Thanks! Steve

No.
I don't have any experience with 500 and larger series truck wheels.

There's an FTE member that is the expert on wheels. He will be able to tell you what wheel will be correct.

His FTE user name is truckdog62563. Type a new thread inre to wheels in the LARGE TRUCK forum.

If has spoke style hubs its easy conversion to 22.5 s. Just change rims and put tires on.

As mentioned in the above post, do you have a spoke style wheel, or a dish with holes?

First up here, Dayton or Budd:
