Truck cut out then re fired

Driving to dinner last night and truck just cut out on me. Re fired immediately, but as I pulled to a stop light the rpm started dipping and it was romping while at idle. Put it in neutral and gave it some fuel and it smoothed out. Had plenty of power at speed. Called Talyn and he thinks oil. Level was fine. Fresh oil about a 1000 miles ago. He suggested sticky IPR and to unplug ICP. Got to dinner and with the truck running I unplugged ICP. Shut it off, went to leave, plugged ICP back in and seems to run fine. I'll know more today, but wanted to see if y'all had any other ideas. No CEL either. Thanks guys.

That was my first thought Nate, as far as I know it has 185k on it. This morning the truck ran great. I've got a spare in the glove box, if the symptoms return, I'll throw the new one in.

That would be the first thing I would try, but HPO is a possibility too. Any problems with warm starting?

Did you turn the key to re-fire, or did the truck start itself up on it's own?

He was telling me it was having a romping idle issue that smoothed out and didn't really come back.

I was attributing it to problems that I've ran across personally.

I don't discount the CPS issue either.

ICP missreadings or IPR stickages can cause really weird idle issues.

CPS's are just so weird, but its more rare that issues with CPS's are intermittent.

I've been fighting an issue like this for quite some time. It has been a while since it has happened though. I purchased spare idms, cps to keep in my truck. I swapped idms for another issue and it hasn't done the random dying thing anymore. (However, it hadn't done it a while prior to the idm replace).

Intermittent issues like this are enough to just ruin your trust in your rig just enough that you don't take it on as long of trips as you need to. You borrow something else. Atleast with me.

Nate, thanks again For the tank. You're really not too far. About an hour and a half. I hope nobody swiped the cash out of the mailbox. Tried repping you, but you know the story.

Nope, It was still there when I got home around 8:00 last night. My neighbors are pretty good folks, and we all tend to kinda watch out for each other. I hope that tank works out well for you. Funny thing is that I went right through Columbus last night. I don't know what time you went home but I may have passed you going the opposite way on 71 last night at some point. Good luck with the installation! Are you going to do the fuller mod at the same time?
