I don't seem to take the time to come around the forum much anymore, just too much other stuff going on. But whenever I see a thread like this it makes me realize what really means the most to us. Cars, trucks, engines, projects all come and go and give us temporary pleasure and distractions from lifes mundane tasks, but our real heros are always people. Often fathers.
Hold him close. Tell him what he means to you and yours.
Just came across this thread, many prayers and positive thoughts go out to you, your dad, and your entire family. I hope his recovery goes as well as possible, keep up the faith.
My uncle had a stroke a few years ago. At first things were difficult, especially talking. He knew what he wanted to say but couldn't get the words out. He still talks slower and sometimes has trouble getting a word out, but otherwise has made a full recovery. His big milestone was to get his driver's license back. He just made a trip from Southern California to Utah, up to Washington, and back through Oregon. Hopefully you can take some encouragement from that, and with the others I hope for the best for you and your family.
I agree wholeheartdly with Slim, make sure your Dad gets all the care and attention you can give him.
My Dad passed almost 30 years ago now (at 67) and i still miss him alot. All the other stuff can be replaced, heros cant.
All my best wishes to you and your Dad. John
