1942-1947 1/2 ton sightings

Yesterday at an event in Roseburg, OR there were 6 (SIX) Jailbars! And at least one more on the way to pavement according to it's young owner.

The show is a pretty large regional event with around 600 cars and trucks.

That's great to hear. Hard enough to find one in a show, but to find 6, wow.

There should be a couple pics on the camera but it is still in the barn. Will post tomorrow. One '46 looked restored stock. It's hood was down and there were some WIDE tires and wheels on the backside. I kind of chuckled at it's stock classification, but who cares?

There were only 2 46's on the camera, but here they are. One of them had a different special utility bed on the back. Oh I see Gary's apricot colored '46 in the background too.

Mike, great pix. That green and black one looks very nice, very classic. I'm not a big fan of side mounted spares, but it looks good on this particular truck.

47 1/2 ton 59,000 Miles orig.

I have an original untouched 47 Jail Bar. It is also optioned out as original such as Heater, dual sun visors, ash tray, sliding rear window, cigar lighter, dual wipers.

It even has the original glass in it with the date bugs on the both windshields, and the sliding rear window. door glass is all original same with the interior, paint and I don't believe the engine has ever had work done to it, other than tune up.

the truck sat for 35 years in an industrial unit up in the mezanine, put up there with a fork lift. All the glass is totally clear and all the rubbers are original and in good to very good condition.

Best part is I drive it periodically I had to put new brake linings on it and rebuilt the steering box and every thing works as it did from factory.
