it might be tough at the angle.however like suggested,all you need to do now is slide the trans back a bit,or just take it out.no more angle issues.clamp on the grips (now straight down) and it's all she wrote.
I'm not trying to be an a$$, but these problems are from using 12 point sockets, sure there are times when they are needed. A good quality 6 point socket set will be worth the price in knuckle skin alone, not to mention ruined nuts and bolts.

I agree 100% with this. I use a 6 point every chance I get to avoid this.
Its out! Talked to a buddy of mine who also suggested an air chisle. Took a lot of cussin but shes out! I then realized that the starter HAS to come off. I will swear up and down I left my starter on my El Camino... Anyways, now for problem #2 which happens to be the same sheat, different bolt lol. BOTH starter bolts are rounded off... I am really starting to regret buying this truck

Because chevy starters are bolted to the engine, and Ford are bolted to the trans bellhousing..
