wms to wms 73 up ford
The wms -wms on my 52 f -3 is 63 1/2",more than a f -1
at 61".i know a 73 up f -100 is wider than a 72 down, but how much.i know that trucks in the ninetys were common
with 3:42 range axles, about where i need to be.since i am considering 5 lug conversion because of wheels, this might
be my route.input is appreciated.

Looks like the 70-79 Ranchero and Torino, as well as 72-79 mid to full size cars would get you within 1/2". However, remember you would then have a different bolt pattern between the front and rear axles.
You could also use one of the 73+ F150 axles and just watch the wheel offset you use to get them aligned correctly in the well.

If you do, locate the wheel you want that has the correct offset (backspace) that would be 2" more backspace (4" wider rear equals 2" each wheel) than you would have with the rear you have now. I learned the hard way...
I had the same problem but on the front and had to buy 4 new wheels and tires.

I am thinking about changing wheel patterns,so anything
is open now.the reason i am looking at the truck is they
are pretty common around here, and they come in ratios
that i need.i would just get a nine inch that would fit
then swap gears, but nobody around here knows how
to set one up,and i do not have the tools.
