Heater Hose Valve

Hey does this valve in the heater hose line go in the line that is going into the heater core, or in the line coming back from the heater core?

I don't know for shure. I would think that it goes to the line in. If you hook it up to the line out you would always have hot water sitting in the heater core with no where to go. I would think that it would make it hot in the cab.

Mine currently has the valve in the line coming back from the heater core going to the water pump, it didn't seem right to me, it seems like how you said, you'd expect this to be cutting off the water coming in to avoid the hot water water & pressure in the heater core for no reason.

I just looked it up. It goes to the top of the intake area by the thermostat housing. Go to this link and see for yourself. http://www.fordification.com/tech/im...s_integral.jpg

C3UZ-18495-A .. Heater Water Control Valve-Cable operated (Motorcraft YG-133) / Available from Ford.

Splices into the inlet to heater core heater hose.

Applications: 1968/72 F100/750 // 1963/67 Econoline w/deluxe fresh air heater // 1965/66 F100/1100 & 1967 F100/750 w/deluxe fresh air heater.

Lineman113: Open your peepers and take a look-see at the Ford truck parts catalog diagram you posted. This valve does not mount on the engine.

D is the heater water valve and as you can see in the pic, it's located on the right (passenger) side inner fender apron, splices into the inlet to heater core heater hose.

Thanks Number Dummy, the diagram Lineman posted and what you have said both confirm that I have it all set up correctly now, with the water going towards the heater core controlled by the valve!
