Herculiner truck bed liner

So this weekend my project is getting windows tinted. Do an exhaust mod. Also Putting on a DIY Herculiner bed liner kit. As well as fishin pole holders in my bed. Anyone got some good tips or tricks? I know that this is going to take a long freaking time to do it but it will be worth it.

Sand your bed really well, tape off where you don't want liner and use that toxic stuff(can't remember what it's called but you have to get it at a hardware store) the instructions call for to prep the area. You don't want to paint it on, use the roller and a paint brush to get consistent coverage. Make sure it's mixed good so you don't get clumps and avoid caking it on. Use gloves and clothes you don't care about, cause it won't come off. I did two coats and let dry a day in between. Turned out ok, I have a bed cover so it doesn't get alot of sun and it has held up well for 5 years. Good luck.

I even painted the rod holders with the Herculiner haha. Pictures aren't exactly the best but all finished! took me two days to get it all done.

Looks good! Others have bad mouthed Herculiner, but for the money I think it's a great deal just so long as you do the prep right and put the time in.

Thanks i appreciate it! I am happy witht he way it turned out. Wasn't expensive and I spent once day sanding/prepping and one day painting. Also I'd much rather have this than no bed liner at all. next up is restoring the rail caps back to life. This time I will take before and after pics to show comparison.

Spent two wonderful years in Corpus Christi. Only real complaint I've had with Herculiner is it will turn gray by the end of the summer down there. I think they do make a UV inhibitor for it though.

Yeah I am sure it will fade down here with how hot it is! but I would like to keep it looking the way it is now. Do you know of any UV protection?

Yes, I remember now....the UV protector will help out alot. My truck has a bed cover so it never gets any sun and still looks great.

Looks pretty good. I have used herculiner on other trucks, and like what was said above the only problem I had was it turned gray. It held up extremely well, but just didn't hold its color.

Thank you! I am sure it is gonna fade sooner or later but I am going to purchase the uv protectant. I was told it holds its color longer with it so I will give it a shot.

I havent used Herculiner yet, but I was wondering if you guys think it would work for my camper????

I have a camper trailer and the roof doesn't leak, but I figured if I bought the white herculiner that would be a forever seal instead of the garbage they recommend you to use.

I've never seen anyone do it either so I thought it would be cool to do the roof and maybe 3-5 inches down the front back and sides.

There wouldn't be any use either, basically wind, sun, and water.....

Thanks.
