outside temp. sensor

I'm installing an outside temperature sensor along with the overhead console into my truck. My question is where is the wiring/sensor routed and located in the front of the truck.

I have all of the push tabs on the wiring and sensor so I can attach it in the factory location as long as I know where to route it all. I'm just talking about the wiring where it branches from the engine compartment wiring harness behind the driver's side headlight to the sensor. It seems it goes in the front bumper/grill area. But exactly where?

If anyone has pictures of theirs, that would be helpful.

Thanks,
Drake

it mounts on the driver side header panel on the angled portion of it....take off the grill and there should be 2 holes for the plastic thing its attached to to stick into the header panel....

I am not sure what the header panel is but I assume it's the thick plastic like material that is flexible and is just to the outside (towards the headlight) of the grill.

If it is, where is the wiring routed up to that point. Up, down, through, and around what?

Thanks,
Drake

Header panel = plastic frame thingy behind the grill. The sensor mounts on the driver side of the radiator. Here's a pic looking between the grill bars.

Another view. It's hard to see, but it's in there behind the grill

And one more angle

Thanks for the pictures. I see the wires go down from that point. Any idea from that point where the wire path follows up to the point just behind the driver's side headlight?

Thanks,
Drake

I just put them in a place along the fender that looked out of the way. I added a rearview mirror with the outside air temp and compass on my truck. It was easy enough to just run it that way. I'd have to look at the wife's truck to see what the stock wiring looked like. I just kind of went from point A to point B.

If you have the chance to look at your wife's truck to see the stock wiring path for this temp. sensor and let me know, that would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,
Drake
