Yup, I had the same thing.
Wouldn't lock/unlock all the time. Only if I pressed the lock button on the remote several times it would fully lock and vice versa.
Resolved it after spraying silicone spray on the mechanism (not the lock).
Remember, wd40 is not long term lubricant.

 

Yeah I'll have to get some silicone spray to fix it for good. I'm just glad I don't have to replace the actuator like the mechanics told me .

Does anyone know any good forms on the how to mod the front and rear door actuators (the tin foil fix)? I tried to do it the other day (from a youtube video) but I did something wrong so I'll have to do it again when I have a change.

Mine will lock/unlock with the key fine. I did the actuator mod to no avail. I also bought a new actuator and that didn't work either. I have removed, cleaned and sprayed the locking mechanism. I know I am getting power but it still wont lock/unlock with the fob. Any ideas?

 

2001 Excursion, rear lift gate lock. I have done the actuator mod, put a new actuator in, and removed, cleaned and sprayed the lock mechanism and it still wont work. I works fine lock/unlock with the key. Just wont work with the key fob. I know I am getting power to the back also. Any idea?
