4.6L vs 4.6L

Hey guys. I am wondering what the differences are between the 4.6L 2V Mustang GT engine and the 4.6L found in the F-150 pickups. I was wondering about valve train specifics and the like. No need to mention the supercharged 4Valve Cobra 4.6L, because there in no chance that the Truck 4.6L is anything like that beast. thanks guys.

I believe mechanically the engines are virtually identical, the horesepower and torque ratings are higher on the mustang engine, but at a higher rpm range than the F150.

Larger camshafts in the Mustang. Better exhaust and intake as well.

The truck block is cast iron. The believe that the Mustang 2V is also cast and the 4V cobra is all aluminum.

Actually the Cobra SVT 4.6 has a cast block. They ditched the aluminum for the cast for the strength to hold the power of the supercharger. They sacrificed the weigth for the strength.
