Delo 400 LE Oil? Costco

I saw this at Costco for 33 for 3 gal. It says it's 15-40w, ISOYN technology, and API CJ-4/SM --- will this work in my 2000 F350 7.3? I heard it will from friends but thought I would check with the experts.

Delo 400 is very good oil. When I ran it, all of my Blackstone OA's came back showing additives well above average. The only reason I switched to Rotella T-6 is because for what ever reason, the Delo 400 gave my truck the 'romps'. Even a few times at around 60F-65F.

I got away from the Delo when it went LE. I loved it, but when they went to LE it seemed to make more noise, no scientific facts on the subject, just my observations. I have been running the Valvoline ever since.

I have run it for years. We run it all the detroits, cummins, cats, and powerstrokes at work too.

Never ran it, yet, but doesnt seem as any better deal then the rest, and yet you'll have to buy 2-cases, since our trucks' take almost 4-gallons.

Seems Wal-Mart each month has some brand in oil for our trucks on sale under 10 buks a gal. or O-reillys will pop up with an add on a sale with our oil, too.

As the other have mentioned Delo is good oil and has the CJ-4 rating you need. I used to buy my oil at Costco but when they dropped it down to a 3 gallon case it made me look elsewhere. They have a theory about not raising prices, just reduce the quantity. In most cases it goes unnoticed.

I have been buying Motorcraft Diesel Oil at Wally World in 5 qt jugs. Again, you need 4 but that leaves spare oil for behind the seat. Either way, shop around, you can find it on sale. Lowes even sells oil and their price is comparable.

Same here, I've been buying Motorcraft oil at Walmart but 3 jugs get me by. Does your truck take more than 15 qts per change?

All good to know, I looked at Walmart and didn't see motorcraft but I will look again. The Rotella T6 didn't come in 15-40 but maybe they were out. The dealership only charges $80 per change with filter - seems like not a bad deal. My napa filter was 38 (@#$%#) and then oil will almost put me at 80... lol.... I like doing it myself but wow....

Rotella? Really? Most of my friends laugh when I switched to Rotella for my Quad because its a cheap oil - I say they are no different but it seems weird to use Rotella - not much of a name brand - but I don't always go with name brand stuff. Good to hear so many of you use the T6 Rotella - I will wait for it to go on sale and then do my service.

Only when I suck out the HPOP reservoir

By filling the filter and changing my bypass filter I usually take a hair more than 15 qts to top her off at the high side of the crosshatches. I usually always have container behind the seat of oil to add if needed. I use that first at each change. Now with my results on analysis, I am running it to 10K for changes.

I use Coscos Dello for the last 170,000 miles. I won't say it is better or worse than the others. Just more convenient for me. My truck is 01 and never seen anything else.
