2010 Transmission ?

Does anyone know if the torque converter has a drain on a 2010?

I assume you're talking about being able to drain the fluid for a full tranny fluid swap? If so, it seems like there is no way to get the fluid out without having a special machine. There are quite a few threads about this on the forum, doing a search will dig them up.

I too am dying to do my own fluid change, but have not yet found a way to do it easily.

A 2010 does not have a torque converter drain plug. A 2000 does. To change all of the fluid in the 2010 you MUST use a heated flush machine.

To change all the fluid in the 2000 you could use this:Changing ATF Fluid in a E4OD and 4R100 transmission .: Articles. Or you could drain the pan and remove the torque converter drain plug and change almost as much.

If you add the Summit Racing external tranny filter (bracket, hoses, and filter for $50), all you really need to do is change the external filter every 25-30k and maybe the whole enchilada every 100k.

Then it's an aftermarket converter. Ford didn't install a drain plug in the torque converter after August, 2001.
