More Wheel questions
I found a place in CA that sells reconditioned wheels and they have a few sets of the factory alcoa mag wheels for the f250/350 SRW from 97>95 and the guy asked me if I wanted polished or brushed finish. He said they came factory with both but I never noticed different finishes on our wheels. Is this true and if so which one is more common?
Which one looks better?
Is there even much difference?
He said there was a clear coat on each finish and the PN is the same, just a polished or brushed designation.

He's full of you-know-what.
There's only ONE part # for those wheels, F5TZ-1007-A
Polished aluminum (if there was a brushed finish, Ford would have assigned a different part #)
If he's reconditioning wheels, then HE might have 2 different finishes on 'em, but they didn't come that way stock.

Alcoa's only came in a polished clear coated finish. When they recondition wheels they strip the clear then repolish and clear coat. He is obviously selling two different finishes. Personally I would never trade my Alcoa's for anything. I stripped the clear, wet sanded, and now polish them regularly. For less than a $1,000 you can pick up a nice set of aftermarket mags. All up to you.
