2012 F250 6.2L

So I traded that pile of juck 2005 F350 DRW 6.0L. It was a pretty truck, but damn those 6.0 are junk. Today I have new F250 Crew Cab 4X4 long bed with the 6.2L V8. Ford really knows how to design the new trucks. Any thoughts on the new truck? Thanks

I have a few suggestions. If you got the FX4 package the shocks are junk, if you didn't get the camper package then you might think about an anti sway bar. These are things that can make a great truck fantastic. I added Bilstien shocks and a Hellwig rear anti sway. This made the truck so muck more responsive and more stable for towing. Be sure to check out the Diesel 6.7 area of this site. I know you don't have a diesel but this area is all about the new trucks and many threads deal with the rest of the truck and not just the engine. Good luck with your new '12!

You can also go over to the 6.2 forum to get info on your truck. I do always look in the 6.7 forum, as there are more people with that then with the 6.2. The Beilsteins would be a good upgrade. I have not added the sway bar, but I think the truck is pretty stable while towing as it is. I love my truck and the motor in it. The gas is cheaper too.

Congratulations on the new F250. I got the same truck except with the 6' box and camper pkg. I have added Happijac camper tie downs, MileMarker winch/Grill guard, and an Air Lift kit.

Congratulations!

Same here. I too just traded in my 2005 F-250 CC FX4 6.0L PSD with 138,000 miles on it for a 2012 F-250 CC FX4 6.2L. I picked it up On April 16th. It's been barely a month, and I've only got 1700 miles on her so far, but I am beyond impressed!!

Never mind all the huge differences between an '05 and the 2012 SD's in general, but this 6.2L engine has really taken me by surprise and the 6-speed is incredibly smooth.

I racked my brain for weeks on end flip-flopping back and forth on the diesel versus gas pros and cons, but getting the gasser was a great decision in my opinion.

It's smooth, quiet, and impressively strong.

My 6 point oh no, was nothing but problems, with multiple EGR failures, injectors, front and rear main seal leaks, coolant/head issues, wiring harness rot, etc., etc....

Because of this I was plenty hesitant of getting another diesel especially in light of what I've been reading about their fuel pump issues and all the new DEF/DPF systems and their associated worries and costs.

I certainly won't miss the addition price of diesel fuel, $100 oil changes and always worrying about fuel/water issues, and the nervousness of when it was going to strand me again.

Thanks for all the input. It sounds like I will upgraded the shocks for sure. This Truck is a beauty I will have to get pics up soon. I don't think I will miss my old one.
