the motor is blown up in my truck and I've been looking for a new one but the ones i have found are in excursions or explorers and i was told the GVW rating is different so they wont interchange. its the Triton 5.4l. is this true?

 

GVW has nothing to do with the engine, also explorers never had 5.4L's. Yours is most likely a NPI engine which for a direct swap would leave you to '99 SD's, '97-98 F150 or Expedition. You can also put a PI engine with almost no issues, that opens up to '04 SD's and '03 F150/Expy.

 

I need new fuel lines for my 99 f-250 but i called the dealership and they said there obsolete. Do you know where i can find some?

 

Cheapest is to make them. Dorman and maybe others by now are making kits that have the OEM connectors. A quick writeup on them:

Went through this on my '92 GMQ that came from the rust belt, got quoted a price from Ford on lines that cost more than the car was worth, this was before these kits came out.
