Yes, the H4 connector is the same as the old sealed beam, Hi/Lo bulbs, such as the 6054. The back of most H4 housings are open, vs the sealed beam lights, so they need a water shield to protect the inside of the housing. I added a picture to my headlight conversion album:

Unfortunately, the H4 lights are in my Aerostar now, and they are a kind of a pain to get to, so I don't have pictures of them.
The new (last) picture shows the pins on my old 6054 bulb, the stock type connector that plugs onto it, a water shield for the back of an H4 light, and the connector with the integrated hood that I snipped off of the Nissan 240 from the junk yard.
Since I never owned a car with 9007 style lights, I don't have any pictures of those. But you can see it in this ad that was posted before:
