1992 Ford Ranger has no power
So I have a 1992 Ford Ranger and it just seems to have no power, like it barely goes city speeds. It used to belong to m uncle and he isn't the type to destroy a vehicle, so we have no idea what could be wrong with it. Lately, my dad thinks it could be the catalytic converter (because that's the one thing he doesn't remember ever being checked). Could it be the cat? Does that make sense?
I don't have a whole lot of money so I don't want to replace something and find out it didn't even make sense as being the issue.
Any ideas on what could be causing a loss of power would be great.
Thanks

Welcome to FTE. This is a great site for all things Ranger.
Give us some more information such as the year of your truck, what engine does it have, is transmission manual or automatic and number of miles on it. Any information about the maintenance history of the truck will also help.
Is the check engine light on? If so, take the truck to an auto part store that offers free diagnostics. Write down the numbers they come up with and post them here and we should be able to help you come up with a solution.
