Needing some help wiring up a rear tank...Pic included

Ok guys...I don't usually clog up the feed with stupid questions, but I've hit a snag with putting a replacement tank under Michelle...

The truck is in the signature..

The tank came from a 1996....

And the guy I bought it off of, simply clipped it off the harness...About 8-10" of wire was left to re-wire it back on with...

I've got the wiring diagrams to use for reference...So it isn't the TRUCKS' wiring that's the issue...And the wiring color codes are the same from 92-96...

It's just the wiring on the tank...

And I have another tank, from a 1994....Factory tank, etc...Same wiring colors.....

Any help with this, would be much appreciated....

Hey, Wesley,

You can just remove the sender and look at the wires. I *think* the yellow goes to the sending unit, the red is the pump's + (positive) connection, black would be ground.

Don't hook up the pump backwards, it'll probably spin in reverse, not what you want.

LOL...True..

I've gotta get the connector plugs, and another tank strap, and I'll be able to put it on...

There's a connector between the main wiring harness for the tanks, and the wiring coming off the tanks...

The pigtail is the moot point where the wire colors change...
