Need help! ! ! Lower radiator hose

I have a 2008 SD CC with a lower radiator hose leak. 59000 miles. It is at the dealer now and they say the hose is a routine maintenance part that is not covered under the Ford ESP. I just bought the truck a few months ago and it already had the radiator and up hose replaced under ESP. Does anyone know if this is correct that the ESP doesn't convert the lower , or who to call to get them to replace it? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, John

seems to be the topic of the day. I just discovered mine is leaking also. I have 25,350 miles. I have to call the dealer in the morning. But here is a thread that might help on the TSB 11-6-6. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...g-leaking.html

Thank you for that tsb. I will talk with the dealer tomorrow. I called ford esp and they were not much help. All they could tell me is that the radiator hoses were not covered. I am hoping that the leak can be linked to the previous failure of the radiator and that I don't have to pay.
I hope you don't have the trouble that I am having bbb dealer wants $ 492 to replace the two lower radiator hoses. Thanks again for the link!

I was just in for what I thought was the lower rad hose, turned out to be upper, but it wasn't going to be covered under ESP, i tried every little trick everyone says, certain logging methods, TSB, codes, part numbers, not covered. Thankfully I have the scheduled maintenance plan which covers belts, hoses, wipers, brakes, etc.

lucky me, i dont have the ford esp (what was my dealer thinking), but it doesn't look like radiator hoses are covered either. But I guess the first step is to get it in and see what is really wrong.

You may be covered cause youre under 36K miles. Unless you're over 3 years. Pardon of its in your signature, using mobile vesrion on iPhone.

Have the SA look it up by part #. The part # determines if it is a warranty item.

Have them print it for you...hoses are a maintance item unless something in the motor made it leak.

36/36 it would be covered.

Call ford customer service and see if they will at least work with you to lower the price some.

I am over 3year...purchased june 28, 2007...i am going to raise the issue of the tsb if I need to. Its obvious ford knows about this issue of leaks or there would not be a tsb or a redesign in hoses/O rings. Mine goes in thursday morning. This will be my first issue aside from a faulty fuel level sender.

Ford ESP just called me. They stated that they will cover the lower hose under my esp.I still think they should have covered all of it as outlined in tsb 11-6-6. But 100 dollars is better than 500. Hope you have the same luck! They didn't seem to interested in the tsb and I think they gave in because I was raising such a fuss.

I think you are right but remember TSB's never change warranty coverage.

Recalls do.

Congrats.

I'd like to know what Ford paid the dealer for that.

Thats awesome. I hope my dealer works with me. I contacted my warranty provider last night, and it sounds like they wont cover the hose, but was informed that it depends on what the dealer says is wrong. So I will keep my fingers crossed.

I really hopes it works for you like it did me. On just picked up the truck and the dealer didn't even charge me for the deductible.that's right, it was free. They even changed my oil and did an alignment. All for no charge. Fire once the dealer treated me right.
Maybe your radiator is leaking too and you can get that and both hoses done. Good luck brother, keep us posted.

well i got the call today that they located the coolant leak at the lower coolant tube and that it is all being covered by my warranty (not ford esp), and that the part is ordered and will be in on tuesday. My warranty also covers up to 5 days of a rental car, I will be picking that up tomorrow.
