I voted 14-16. That's about the norm for the '96 in my sig. It can do better given the right conditions(I've hit 18 MPG a time or two and 16.5 - 17.5 isn't unusaul) but very rarely will it do worse than 14. Yes, the speedometer is accurate.
I can't check an under 10 box...my truck, an 89 F250, NP435 4 speed with no O/D, 3.55 gears, only gets 9 if I'm REALLY nice to it, but on a regular basis it gets 7, and with a trailer it gets 6. The motor is pretty beat from years of farm use though...
Yep did complete tune up with msd parts, had code 33 ,replaced cracked egr sensor ,and egr valve because the studs that held it on broke off ,but now i get code
34,44 and77 what do you guys think only had code 33 before.
OVerall I get 12.5 mpg using Canadian gallons so not sure what it would be in US gallons. F150 4X4 sc lb 5.8 E4OD 3.55ls stock tires. Combination of city and highway driving.
I'm surprised to see all the less than 16 to 18s. We've driven ford vans with 302s or 351ws for years and even our 1 tons got 17mpg loaded at highway speeds. Mixed. Then again we've always lived in mostly rural areas too.
My 96 150 300-6 5 speed 3.55 gears 4x4 gets 15.5 avg and best of 17.2
The 97 250 4x4 460 5 speed with 4.10 gears gets avg 13.8 and best highway of 15.8.
My 96 150 300-6 5 speed 3.55 gears 4x4 gets 15.5 avg and best of 17.2
My specs are the same except in a '94. I'm liking the sound of that. Are you running stock size, 235/75R15 tires? I like the looks of my 32-11.50R15's but I'm afraid they'll be mileage killers.
91 5.0 4x4 auto 4:10s..all winter plowing snow got between 3.2-3.9mpg no idea what it'll get just driving around. but i think i was able to eek out 10mpg before.
95 F150 Sc Sb XLT, 4x2, 300, 5 speed, 3.08 gear, and truck wieghs about 4400 lbs. I get 16.3 to 17.5 Mpg on my daily commute of 40 miles 60/40 highway and city.
At a steady 60 mph it will get 20-21 Mpg about 18 at 75. Hauling a 4500 lb 5th wheel at 55-60 in 4th it will get 13 Mpg.
I have a dash mounted vacuum gauge, did a timing bump to 12 deg BTDC and increased spark gap to .050
YMMV
