The Flexplate and harmonic dampener need to match. So I would use the Mustang flexplate. Should bolt up the same, its all SBF bolt pattern IIRC.

The 5.8 PCM should run the engine ok. I don't know much about mustangs but I know the HO's had a different firing order than the regular. You'll have to make sure that it is the same as the truck. If its different then you'll have to swap injector firing order as well.
And of all that checks out fine then you'll still have to swap 3 wires in the harness from the PCM to the engine harness plug. I can get you the colors and numbers when I get home tommorrow morn.

What ever you do, make sure you get a 5.0 flexplate. The 4.9 and 5.8 won't work.

The ho has the flex plate on the motor. The ho also has the same fireing order as the 351 so I think im good there. If you can explain a bit more on the wireing that would be great.
And also is there a way to mount the fan to the mustang pulley system or should I go ahead and get an electruc one?
Im almost there lol im tired of walkin.

This is how I repinned mine and it works flawlessly...but it's also a manual trans.

Again, these wires go from the PCM plug to the plug on the inner fender that the engine harness plugs into.
You'll need to change them on the PCM end of the harness.

You could use the Mustang computer if you do that, and you won't have to do anything with the existing truck harness just put it aside and swap in the Stang harness after you rearrange it for a drivers side computer.

Not if you're using the Mustang computer, if using a truck computer then yes there are wires to be moved.

I've been told that not every truck requires this. It all depends on where it was made and what month of the technical year 96. (I think the early 4.9's didn't have them maybe)
I would pull the PCM out and see if those three wires are already there and that the colors correspond. You may get lucky.
Keep us posted

Well im ok with simple wireing. But this seems to be beyond my skill level. I really dont know where to begin with this. Should I try it as is and see what happens?

I would try it then. Those other wires go to the added injectors and a customer use line. If it runs on 6 cylinders when you start it then you'll know.

well everythings done. im into the wireing aspect of it now and im lost.....
i got a 96 harness but alot of the connectors are different, i dont know what to do at the poin, i know some of the connects like the ones for the throttle body need the wires extended but thats not the issue. the plugs are different.
im way to far in to back out now
