That's kind of the goal once I start tearing into the OBS. I want it done right and to look good, but it won't have to be at show quality levels. It's going to be the workhorse of the fleet, so it's all about preservation and reliability. The 1/2 ton is the flashy show and play toy.

when i use ospho or jasco prep and prime, i pressure wash first then let it dry.
do not use the phosphoric acid if it is cold out, it need to completely dry before you can do anything with it. and it will not dry when it is cold.

Man, I'm no one to keep up to...you've probably passed me by now lol. I got under the Bull after show season and was so disappointed with myself. Gonna make it right this time though - been making as best use as I can of my downtime, and now I've got two pretty much free weeks of time before I go back to work to really get stuff done.

Looks real good, man. Clean is where it's at.

I don't need this truck to be show quality. I don't particularly want it to be, because I still intend to use it like it was meant to be used. I just want to do what I can to prevent it from deteriorating, and make it a good solid work truck. I don't want to spend a fortune, but I don't want to cheap out and find later that I was wasting my time either.
That's how I felt about my house. Although I couldn't in good conscience leave anything that was suspect. Every wall opened up exposed a new issue that needed to be remedied.

Yeah man, I hear ya. I can't leave stuff behind when it's not to my liking or it's not right. Gotta fix it, make it right.

Got it. Is Ospho safe on plastics and rubber?

ON an unrelated note, does anybody know who the OEM supplier is on the e-brake cables on our trucks? I'm thinking I may replace the rear two on mine while I have it apart this winter. Looking online, I am considering going with Wagner parts instead of spending twice as much for ones in a Motorcraft box. I'm wondering if Wagner might have been the OEM supplier anyway. If I can't get anything done outside, I may as well, get some parts rounded up and ordered...

Be careful buying aftermarket E-brake cables Nate I got a set for my old truck and had problems with the plastic coating on the cable and they would not release. They came from NAPA I took them back and went to Ford and bought Motorcraft and had no problems.

I'd be willing to bet those were Cardone parts, Kevin. I may be wrong, but I think they're a major supplier to NAPA. At any rate, you're probably right and I should just knuckle under and pay 50% more for the Motorcraft stuff. I guess I'm just trying to stretch a dollar as far as it will go.

I got aftermarket ones on mine.
The difference is, before i installed them i dunked them in a bucket of oil and ran them back and fourth tons until oil came out the other end.

Don't worry Nick, I'll back you up.

It was 85° today and when I got to Vegas I had to use both AC's to cool the place off!
