I have not been able to replace the licence plate lights on my 94 F-150, I looked up the light number and it was a 194, so i bought one and went to put it in BUT of course there is no base to the light so it just falls out, does anyone have any ideas?
You might just want to replace the entire light, bulb and holder. It's pretty easy and they are not very expensive. I've replaced them on both my Ford and Chevy trucks. They have a tendecy to corrode and sometimes it's easier than messing with the bulb.
There are two numbers listed for that particular lightbulb. one clearly doesn't fit. the other one is the right one. I think you got the bogus one. I did it too.

Yep this is a old thread, but the man who brought it back needs help!!
You can get the whole set-up at Wal-Mart ~ Auto section, lights.
I replaced both of mine in my rear bumper & they are brighter.
You'll get the whole set-up. Just knock yours out of the bumper with a hammer (MN & rust, I know) & pop the new ones in & splice into your wiring for the old lights.
