I went there 16 years ago when I lived in Md.....no designated parking.... just the streets and residents yards for $20....so if you don't want to walk a half mile to the fair grounds; be there by 6:30 am. I recommend going with a relaxed mind instead of a "I gotta see everything and get all of the bargains in the first hour" attitude. Quarters for the porta potty. Pad and Pen for notes on contacts that you may meet. Comfy shoes. hat. sunscreen. Have fun.

I used to go there every year, I'm about 3 hrs from there in Northern Virgina. I was thinking of taking the truck up there this year, but after I got laid off, I've had other things to think about LOL. When is it anyway ? One of the posts said the 26th. Of April? I'm could check myself, but I'm lazy today. It would be fun to hook up with other FTE cyber friends.

From attending other swap meets, I'd also suggest: take a wagon if you have enough room, carrying parts around gets old real quick, especially if heavy. Add an easily read "parts wanted" list to the sides, you might be surprised who has what you want. Have a way to secure your finds if you are taking a pickup and/or open trailer, nothing worse than coming back to find someone else wanted the same parts you just paid for. Go with an open mind and a fat wallet, you don't want to have to leave without that perfect something just because you left your money home because you were going "only to look". Don't forget the sunscreen and a hat!

Making the 500 mile trek from east TN with a detour into southern WV to meet a friend. I have been off and on over the last 17 years (that's a scary thought) always a great trip. Never payed for toilet and never more than $5 for parking. Comfy shoes, Sunscreen, Hat and backpack (makes carrying those little things easier). A camera because I guarantee that you will see things you didn't know existed. I usually toss in some water and snacks. I have never taken a wagon but have been thinking about it this year. I may put for hire on the back and make $$$. I used to take reference materials so I didn't overpay for things but I stepped into the future with a smartphone last week so we will see how that works.

Yup, I'm going. Don't know if I'm goin to take to 52, but the wife said "lets go". Probably on Sunday. I've found that you can find cheap parking on the local's property. Go down some of the side roads near the fairgrounds and lots of folks have cheap parking in their back yards. Beats the charge to park in the fairgrounds. I like the spring show the most. It's not so hot and lots of forks have been waiting all winter to sell. See ya there
