Remember when Han Solo and the others dove into the garbage compacter on the Death Star to avoid the imperial troops, and after several minutes, he exclaims "I've got a bad feeling about this..."
That's about how I felt today while degreasing the new 7.3L. I decided to clean it up, go over it, paint it, and service the engine before dropping it in the truck.
What glow plugs are supposed to look like, and what 7/8 of them do:
What I unearthed from the grease:
Any ideas about getting this sucker out without pulling the head are highly welcome.

This engine is only to get me through until I get around to building the 6.9 towards the end of the spring/summer. It's fairly low mileage, but I'm not doing anything other then maintenance to it, and running it.
The truck that the engine came out of was a plow truck, used on salty roads; it's tin's are pretty well rotted away. Something tells me that the other glows have been replaced before, and that this one's been left in there like that for a while.
